OUR JOURNEY
Woolero is a technology company that utilizes low-grade wool to create new, innovative products. Since 2022, we have established a production line for wool pellets (bio-fertilizer) in Trøndelag and developed a new sustainable material. The material offers a 100% biodegradable alternative to current plastic and peat pots.
We are working on innovative research and development to create products that can replace today's non-renewable single-use products.
The material provides the soil with a unique combination of nutrients and organic matter that stimulates microbial life, improves soil quality, and ensures a healthy and balanced environment for plants to grow in.
In our production, we use recycled materials from used machinery in an old factory. This way, we keep the entire value chain sustainable. Do you have any questions about our production process?

Brand Inception

An Idea about Wool
At the Entrepreneurship program at NTNU, Mathias and his team want to find residual materials to create new products. After gaining insight into how much low-grade wool is discarded and burned, they develop an idea to use the positive properties of wool in soil.
Idea visit: Packaging made from Norwegian wool?
In 2021, the team at NTNU began traveling around to Norwegian farmers to learn more about both wool and their stories. It was here that Woolero had its first visit to Osen.
Woolero is becoming a limited company
After two years of development, a limited company (AS) is established. With positive feedback and demand for more agricultural innovation, the company is now testing, researching, and developing products. The factory in Osen will become the production facility.

Awarded Adolf Øien's Scholarship

Awarded by The Royal Norwegian Society for Development. The Royal Norwegian Society for Development strengthens national and international food security by promoting a sustainable food system.
The First Wool Pot
In 2024, Woolero developed its first Wool Pot. Over the past few years, it has been improved into the product we sell today.
